Asaraf bin Aboo Bakar
Non-Independent and Non-Executive Director
En. Asaraf bin Aboo Bakar (“Encik Asaraf”) is appointed as a Non-Independent and Non-Executive Director of Permodalan BSN Berhad (“PBSNB”) with effective from 20 January 2021. He is currently the Head, Treasury & Investment of Bank Simpanan Nasional. He has served the banking sector in various capacity over the last 31 years. He also sits as a member of the PBSN’s Audit Committee.
Encik Asaraf started his career with Bank Industri Malaysia Berhad in 1988 as Credit Officer before joining the Treasury division of Bank Bumiputera Malaysia Berhad (BBMB). During his tenure with BBMB, he served as the Chief Dealer and subsequently as the Assistant General Manager of BBMB Tokyo Branch between 1993 and 2001. He was then appointed as the Chief Executive Officer of Bumiputra-Commerce Bank (L) Ltd between 2002 and 2006. Following the merger between CIMB and BCB in 2006, Encik Asaraf was appointed as the General Manager of CIMB Bank Berhad, London Branch from 2006 until 2013. He was with Bank Islam Malaysia before joining Bank Simpanan Nasional in 2016 as the Senior Vice President/Head, Investment & Treasury.
Encik Asaraf holds a B.A. (Hons) in Accounting from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM).
Kamari Zaman bin Juhari
Independent Director
Kamari Zaman bin Juhari is an Independent and Non-Executive Director of Permodalan BSN Berhad (“PBSNB”). He also sits as a member of the Investment Committee of PBSNB. He was formerly the Director of Development Financial and Enterprise Department, Bank Negara Malaysia. The department is responsible to foster the development of robust and progressive Development Financial Institutions, and to develop competitive SMEs in achieving socio-economic objectives of the country. He joined the Bank Negara Malaysia in 1982 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Resource Economics from University Putra Malaysia and was later gaining his Mason Fellowship upon graduation in Master on Public Administration from Harvard in 1990. In 1992, he was appointed as the Head of Offshore Unit in Labuan and then in the same year resuming the position as Chief Forex Trader until 1996. He also served as Deputy General Manager in Labuan Development Authority until 1999. He was then moved back to the Bank and assuming a position as Head of SME Special Unit, and later in 2000 moving up to a higher level designation as Director of Special Investigation Unit, 2000-2004, Director of Human Resource Department, 2004-2007 and finally settled as the Director of Development Financial and Enterprise Department, Bank Negara Malaysia since 2008 until his retirement before he joined Bank Simpanan Nasional. He also sits on the board of KL Remit Exchange Sdn Bhd and Revenue Group Berhad.
Norahmadi bin Sulong

Encik Norahmadi bin Sulong is appointed as an Independent Director and Member of the Investment Committee of Permodalan BSN Berhad with effective from 1 April 2021. (“PBSNB”). Encik Norahmadi has close to 30 years working experiences in the capital market business from investment trading to business development in the capital market industry. He started his career as Dealer Representative with TA Securities Bhd. He was with Maybank Investment Bank and RHB Investment Bank before joining Muamalat Invest Sdn Bhd in 2012. His last position at Muamalat Invest Sdn Bhd was Chief Executive Officer. Encik Norahmadi holds a Master Degree in Business Administration majoring in Marketing and Finance from Charles Sturt University, Australia. He was a holder of Capital Markets Services Representative’s License in fund management in relation to portfolio management and dealing in securities.
Datin Zainab Binti Hj Md Shariff
Independent Non-Executive Director
Datin Zainab binti Hj Md Shariff is appointed as an Independent Non Executive Director and Member of the Audit Committee of Permodalan BSN Berhad with effect from 1 April 2022 (“PBSNB”). She started her career in 1989 as a Valuer with Jones Lang Wootton and subsequently joined Citibank Bhd as an Assistant Manager for Credit Approval Unit. Datin then moved into the Capital Markets Sector as a Property Analyst attached with Public Bank Securities Sdn Bhd. In 1995, she joined RHB Asset Management Sdn Bhd as a Fund Manager and later promoted to the position of General Manager of Equity Investments. Pursuing her career, Datin joined Mayban Investment Management Sdn Bhd in 2001 as the Chief Investment Officer responsible to lead the company’s asset management team in managing multiple assets with value increasing to RM4bn as of March 2004. Datin was a holder of Capital Markets Services Representative’s License (CMSRL) in Fund Management and currently holding the CMSRL in Dealing in Securities; the latter attached with TA Securities Holdings Bhd since October 2004, as a Senior Vice President, Institutional Sales. Her working experiences encompass various key sectors spanning over 32 years. Datin Zainab holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Estate Management from University of Central England, Birmingham, UK. Datin also holds memberships of Certified Financial Planner (CFP), Association of Valuers, Property Managers, Estate Agents and Property Consultants in the Private Sector (PEPS) as well as the Malaysian Institute of Property and Facility Managers (MIPFM).
Mohd Hamdi Mohd Khir
Non Independent Executive Director
Mohd Hamdi Mohd Khir joined the company in October 2011 and is appointed as the Executive Director on 13 July 2021 as well as Chief Executive Officer (“CEO”) on 14 January 2022 respectively. He was the Deputy Chief Executive Officer of PBSN prior to his appointment as ACEO. He holds BBA (Hons) from Universiti Utara Malaysia and MBA from University of Technology (UiTM).He started his career as Dealer’s Representative at RHB Securities Sdn. Bhd in 1997 and a brief exposure to investment analysis when joining Inter-Pacific Securities Sdn Bhd. He gained tremendous exposure in asset management when joining Mayban Investment Management Sdn Bhd, an asset management arm of Maybank in 2001, mainly in business development and operations areas before moved to Maybank as a Regional Wealth Consultant serving High Networth Individual segment in 2010. He holds a Capital Markets Services Representative’s License (CMSRL/A4060/2007).
Permodalan BSN Berhad has revised / updated the Terms of Reference for the Panel of Investment Adviser (“PIA”) for all funds under management and has been approved by the Board of Directors for adoption with effective from 24 March 2021. Subsequently, the Board has approved the revised Terms of Reference in May 2022. The frequency of the meeting for PIA has been revised to at least four (4) times in a year and / or other frequency as determined by the Chairman of the Committee from time to time.
ROLES AND PRIMARY FUNCTION OF THE PANEL OF INVESTMENT ADVISERS
The Panel of Investment Advisers of the Fund formulates, establishes and implements investment strategies and policies. The Panel of Investment Advisers will continually review and monitor the success of these strategies and policies using predetermined benchmarks towards achieving a proper performance for the Fund. The Panel of Investment Advisers will also ensure investment guidelines and regulations are complied with.

Gan Min Soo

Gan Min Soo is an Independent Member of Permodalan BSN Berhad’s Investment Committee. He holds a Bachelor of Science (Agriculture Economics) from University of Malaya. He started his career with Federal Land Development Authority (“FELDA”) as an Agriculture Officer and served FELDA for 33 years at various positions. His last position was as the General Manager of Investment, FELDA before he retired in 2005. He subsequently joined Mayban Investment Management Sdn Bhd as Head, Private Banking (equity) in 2006 until December 2007.

Wong Ching Fai @ Christopher

Mr. Christopher Wong Ching Fai joined Permodalan BSN Berhad in August 2016 and he is the designated person responsible for compliance matters. He has more than 14 years of experience in the unit trust, asset management and commercial banking industries. He began his career in Universal Trustee (M) Berhad as a trustee officer, overseeing the fund administration and operations matters. Subsequently, he joined a few reputable and established fund/asset management companies, overseeing the compliance and Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Financing of Terrorism (“AMLCFT”) functions. Prior to joining PBSNB, he was the registered Compliance Officer for RHB Asset Management Sdn Bhd and RHB Islamic International Asset Management Berhad, CIMB-Principal Asset Management Berhad as well as OSK-UOB Investment Management Berhad. He was also previously attached to a foreign bank in Malaysia, where he is responsible for regulatory compliance and AMLCFT matters. He holds a Bachelor of Management (Honours), majoring in Finance from Universiti Sains Malaysia.
Suzylah Mohamed Noor

Suzylah Mohamed Noor joined Permodalan BSN Berhad in September 2011. She holds a Bachelor Degree in Business Majoring Finance from MARA University of Technology (UiTM).She started her career in 1994 with Cartaban Nominees, Standard Chartered Bank (M) Berhad and was employed by Malayan Banking Berhad in Custody Services, Global Wholesale Banking until September 2011. She is well exposed to the investment environment, dealt with Asset Management Co’s, Trustees, Unit Trust Management Co’s, Foreign Bankers/Brokers and Regulators.
